Jacqueline,

I can't speak for all 2 day 100's, but my experience has been that your ride
time is totalled for the two days and the person with the lowest total time
wins. Also, my experience is that the one day 100's are tougher on the
rider and easier on the horse, and the 2 day 100's are easier on the rider,
but tougher on the horse. Pacing and conservation are just as important
because you have the next day to consider. Many horses will get through a
one day 100 on adrenaline and endorphins ( my own horse is a certified
endorphin junkie!!! :-) ) , but really let down overnight and all the
soreness from the previous day is magnified. I really respect those horses
and the riders of the multiday (as in 5X) rides. They are experts in horse
care, and these are the truly tough endurance horses!!

Cindy Bell
Wameco (just show me a map of the trail and let me do this by myself, thank
you!! :-)
