To Carl (whoever and wherever you are), As far as I'm concerned, your post
to Glenda reveals you for the arrogant, pompous, snob that you are. How
dare you post a reply that your proposed Class B rides would be Glenda's
"lick" and that you think she's a long way from Class A races? If you could
convince the powers that be in the AERC to accept your ideas, and I
sincerely hope that they have more sense than to buy into them, you would,
in effect, be dividing endurance riders into a caste system and newbies
like myself and Glenda and many others (who are wanting to ride to
"complete" now and to learn so that we can ride to "compete" in the future)
would be the untouchables. I have patterned my riding in NATRC to ride
with and behind the best so they can model their skills and talents for me,
and I have become a better rider because of being with them. What I see in
your plan is that the top, the elite, riders in endurance would be so
"busy" doing Class A rides (what...for the money, the prestige, for an
increased value for their horseflesh?) that only the novices would be left
for the Class B rides. And I know from competing in the dog world for a
number of years that if you neglect the "little people" pretty soon the
numbers go down and your sport gets a terminal illness. But I'd be long
gone before that...
