What do I have?

I live in Michigan and have 2 horses. One is a tenn. walker that owns me ( I
got him as my first horse when he was 6 months old from a couple that didn't
know he was coming. I learned a lot but he didn't) That was 5 years ago.

2 years ago I bought an Arab because I was fascinated with the idea of
endurance riding. I don't seem to have a place to train or the time to do
it. But since I recently joined this list my fire has been fueled a little.
My horse is 15.3 hands and I am a heavyweight at 6'2" and 232 pounds.

I have some questions:

1) My horse is a grandson of Aladdinn B and a great grandson of Bask B.
The people that sold him to me told me this expecting me to be impressed. I
never heard of them, has anyone else? are any of my horses relative being
used in endurance? I bought him cause he looked big enough to hold me and my
vet agreed. (what does the B after thier names mean? (not boy I hope!))

2) I live near Flint, Mi, I have joined UMECRA and some other club, but the
rides are many hours away and I have never been to one. Does anybody do
anything more local on a training basis that may be interested in helping out
with training advice and suggested riding locations.

Thanks!
