LIDLOCKER SURVEY - NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS

Hi gang,

Lidlocker owners can rest easy - I only had 4 replies to my e-mail
survey asking for problems and only one of these replies had a velcro
problem and that was for the visor attachment. I assume that most
other lidlock owners have not had any problems with the helmet.

I called the Lexington Lidlocker # inside my helmet to ask about
the velcro problem and if various glue's were safe - they do have
a warning on the inside of the helmet to not use cleaning agents other
than detergent in warm water, or adhesives, on the helmet without
checking with them. (I personally doubt if any kind of glue is going
to damage the outer plastic shell.) Using epoxy to re-attach the
velcro was a bust - The epoxy peeled right off of the helmet.

The company response was to offer to send me new velcro - I did not ask
them about whether the glues I had already used might cause a problem.

So if you have a lidlocker enjoy it - I am going to start carrying a
piece of adhesive backed velcro with me so I can fix the helmet in
the middle of a ride if a velcro strip comes loose again - I can't
wear the helmet otherwise (I'm kind of between sizes so I need to
adjust the helmet about as small as it will go and the helmet bounces
all over the place on me when I can't tighten the strap.)

Cheers,
Teresa and Grey Moun

P.S. I think perhaps my velcro problems may have been caused by letting
the helmet get quite cold. The night before my first ride this year the
temps went well below freezing. The ride was actually moved back a
day because of negative fahrenheit wind chill on saturday morning.
