Whatever you call it.....I treated it first by placing the horses foot
(leg) in Chlorox solution (20 parts water, 1 part Chlorox) big bucket
.. with stiff brush) brushing downward (ouch!)
Then apply, liberally, Sulfodene (made for dogs -
recommended specifically as an aid for
hot spots and moist dermatitis...(over the counter - pet store)

1st I'm no Doctor....but this method works fast....several days

2nd...watch your clothes and shoes....Chlorox takes no prisoners

I'm sure if you examine my little remedy...you'll find something
intelectually wrong with it....but it worked for years on a favorite
horse...nothing like white legs and pink skin!
after my little treatment...it will be on the "dark pink" side!
nothing to fear - It's working!.....Carlos

PS. where did the name :"dew poisoning" come from.?????????

Well, I cant resist answering your next question....with lightness of heart
and a bushel of good will......:Def. Swedge: If you step in manure...step
away
and look back....a Swedge!
