I chose the 3/4 ton (HD) 4X4 over a dually....most dually's don't have 4X4

Turbo is better in every way....it is what makes driving a diesel
tollerable...and deals
with "effort" and heavy loads. Most turbos have dual speed cooling fans that
kick in to correct temporary overheating problems

Any used vehicle has "unknown" history....certainly you would not want to buy
a diesel with more than 75,000 miles (assuming it still has the 100,000 mile
warranty)
this will give you 25,000 miles to know what you have.

You might also try to buy a big gasoline engine...Chev. 454 or Ford whatever
their big one is. If I were buying a used vehicle today, I would take it in
(before purchase)
to someone "who knows" and if the "check-out" cost $100...it's a bargain! .

But you have to be careful...the manufacturers make major changes from year
to year....for example between 1992 and 1993 Chevrolet made a big change in
the transmission...even though the outside appearance didn't change at
all....Chevrolet Pick-up trucks between 1989 and 1997 look exactly
alike....under the hood you wouldn't even know it was the same
vehicle...SO...when you are looking at a Chevrolet that is used....Talk the
the Transmission Mechanic at the Best Chevy dealer...for part of the
"check-out!"

Overheating is what kills transmisions...it's the "lactic acid"
of Motorized Vehicles.....

there's lots of talk about what lasts...what's better, etc....in a used
vehicle...how it was used...for example...you don't turn off a "hot"
turbo....you let it cool down before the engine is turned off. So...now you
see...a persons opinion may be a result of a known or unknown experience
which may have little to do with "truth"....nothing lasts thru abuse...lots
of abuse is unintentional.

lots of people think it is easier (on the horse) to run a horse up hill....we
take our horses up hill in it's most efficient gait...at it's outside heart
rate...that keeps the
handling of oxygen at its maximum. Our Trucks are the same!....carlos
