Just to clarify...when complaining about people's manners on their
horses, I am referring to seasoned travellers...not new riders. I would
not expect a new rider to know all of this stuff and most new riders I
know are completely open to suggestions. Unfortunately, the "thickest"
people I know were "born and raised around horses, so they know it
all". This was true for members of my own family (now deceased), as
well as a few acquaintances I no longer ride with. So please, don't
assume I'm slamming new riders, because I am not. We were all new
riders once, me, not too very long ago, and I believe in communication,
openiness and patience.
