I've been doing some marginal endurance work for the past two
years...half a dozen 25 & 30 milers but would like to begin training for
50's. I've got a Q'horse mare 16 years that is now reserved for trail
rides but no endurance. I was keeping a GREAT 9 year old paint gelding,
1/2 Arab, 1/2 Q'horse with lots of go and a great personality. Sadly,
the owner decided she wants her horse back, and I'm out looking.
I've got 40 acres in Monterey County CA, that is adjacent to the Los
Padres/ Ventana Wilderness (Big Sur) Many many miles of fire trails and
small trails with lots of verticle.
I am 49 years, 175 lb male and ride an average of 3 times per week. Been
horsin' around for about 4 years, so while I'm not a pro, I am sensible,
kind, and easy with my horse(s). I'm a pretty decent (athletic)
rider...not a "woos" My mare said she wants a young (5 years at least)
greenbroke (at least) gelding. As I'm out in the toolies, I need a well
conformed, not prone to colic, healthy horse. Good loader, no vices gets
points. If anyone knows of such a steed please let me know. I promise a
good home and good times. Brokers, please don't respond with your
problem horses:)
