Hill Riding Clinics

By popular request:

Over the months of September and October I will be presenting clinics on the
technique for riding your horse up and/or down steep hills, engaging your
horse's hindquarters and developing self carriage. We will do this by riding
the fire breaks of Santa Ana Canyon.

You can trailer in with your horse, or I can provide you with a horse to ride
(I have one or two available). Unfortunately, there will be no ability to
"audit" this clinic as we will be climbing miles up into the canyons (a trek
that I cannot recommend making on foot unless you are preparing for a ride n
tie : )).

For those interested, we can then go on to have a session on trotting down
hill without falling on your face (or pounding the heck out of your horse's
forelegs).

I am intending to provide these clinics on Fridays and or Saturday during the
month of September and October (except for Sept 26/27 since I will be at the
Manzanita Ride).

Depending on interest and response: If you can get enough people interested in
your area and there is suitable terrain to do it, I am willing to travel to
your area to do the same.

People interested can e-mail me at katswig@deltanet.com. As I get a better
idea of who is interested and when, I can match up experience levels of
horses/riders and send out a firmer schedule. More advanced clinics on
maintaining balance in ditches and gullys may be added if interest warrants.
