The Polar based EHRM has a battery in the rec watch.., which you can change
..it is not easy.. depends on the model..
from your comments .. I ASSUME you have the 'belt' on one piece transmitter..

your are right --its trash --able.. cannnot replace that battery ...only
lasts about a year.. you MAY try Polar.. they claim a 2 yr warranty.. but it
will cost you about $30.. OR you can go back to who you got it from.. but I
bet that wont work either..

These models by Polar were built for use on humans not horses.. MOST runners
etc dont mind buying a new transmitter in a year or so.. since they use it
every day..
I did NOT think this was a good product for use with horses..

SO we dropped Polar componets and still use the 'wired' transmitter --with
user replaceable batteries from other manufactures..in our V-MAX EHRM

However for those riders that LIKE the Polar one piece non-repairable
transmitter and dont mind shelling out $30 to $60 every year or so.. give
Polar or the 'other' monitor company a call.. Polar 800 227 1314..

V-MAX EHRM is based on the old reliable and REPAIRABLE wired transmitter ..

However , we HAVE found a supplier of a 'belt' type one piece transmitter
that IS REPAIRABLE. The transmitter looks like the Polar unit.. BUT it has a
'cap' in the back to replace the battery.
We use this transmiiter in our V-MAX HEARTBELT-- for use in the vet check
with the saddle removed..
and in our NEW HEARTCHECK.. a hand-held 'handle device you just press/ hold
on the horse in the girth area.. and read the HR on any HRM rec watch.. A
very nice tool. Tested at OD100 and Biltmore 100 this year
Very slick

We sell the repairable transmitter for $55
HEARTBELT $75
HEARTCHECK $85 (the handle is costly)
