choosing rides

I am replying to the question of why I am drawn to certain rides. Being
new in the sport, and not at all rich, I have to be very choosey about
which ride I can go to. I consider these factors:

1. Distance...I do not want to drive over 5 hours if possible, and even
5 hours is a bit long for one weekend.

2. Trails...has to be a place I can't normally go to. Has to be
beautiful as well! I agree that riding fireroads next to highways would
not turn me on. I love single track trail and so does Mystery.

3. Difficulty of trail is a big consideration at this point.

4. Cost seems to be the same for most of these rides. I "wish" the
price were a little less for maybe "no thrills" rides but they do not
seem to be an option in my area.

Good luck to Karen and the Gardnerville Gallop. This is her first ride
management and I'm sure she and the S&R people will do a great ride!
