Swanton 100 had a perfect day, overcast all day with mist in the
mountains, then clearing skies in the evening to reveal a full moon.

Kathy Thompson was first on their fabulous stallion, Zane Grey. Aliee
Brown (15 year old) on Jazon Wonder's horse was second and seemed as if
they had done a 50 miler. I know that Alan Mitchell (of saving Becky
Hart's horse at Tevis) was fourth and BC.

Four of the five ride and tie teams finished (George Hall and I did
not.) The first finishing near the 6th place endurance horse (Tom
Christfolk on Huckleberry with Dan Barger) in 17 +hours and Lani
Newcombe and Kathy Braddus from Virginia in 21.5 hours.

Tom Christfolk was 16th at Tevis on the same horse and moved to last
place then because of the missed trail. Great redemption Tom. Great
crewing Laura.

I did not finish on Katie's Image because it was too soon after Tevis
for an eight year old horse and she had to pack too much weight with
George and me. I just couldn't bring myself to make her go up those last
grades the way she was acting. (Diet time Steve).
