Linda, if your Chevy has a factory towing package it should have a
transmission cooler as standard equipment. If not, a trans. cooler is a
good investment.

If you do have one you might have it checked out to be sure it is
working properly. I have a '93 Chev and I seem to remember there was a
recall on some because the cooler was being bipassed.

Also, you might consider a temp gauge on the transmission oil if
everything is working ok. If things heat up you can back off.

Finally, remember to gear down from Overdrive to Drive, even on the
flat. I find myself going to O without thinking occasionally.
