<< I have just read your post WAHO, the AHRA and ROM-GATE, with much
interest. I would say you have a
strong perception of the problem.. While we cannot change the past, we can
do everything possible
to preserve the future.

This aggressive attempt to discredit the AHRA and destroy the Arabian horse,
is one of the most
disheartening things I have seen in many years. The WAHO/AHRA dispute has
only been an excuse for
this end. The foremost issue concerning AHRA is quite simply, a refusal to
allow any country, other
than our own - America - control over our registry. In the organization of
WAHO, it was stated that
WAHO would NOT interfere with the operations of any registry. Had this not
been the case, I can
assure you the United States of America would not have been a member, in the
first place.

I refer you to the post script on Posting number 15197, dated 9 Aug 1997.
Herein lies the root of
the AHRA attack.

I hvae forwarded this to the ebdurance list, since such a VAST majority of
these owners have Arabians, and MANY are now exporting them, I feel it
important that a clear picture of the issue be well-presented. There is no
doubt that the mafia-style techniques of WAHO are not only out of character
(and thus appear to be at the behest of some other body) but also a clear
challenge to the autonomy of the AHRA. We have the right and the OBLIGATION
to protect the many, MANY dues-paying members from the larceny of stealing a
portion of the value of their horses. We agree - while there is no good way
to effectively change some of the mistaken inclusions of hte past, it would
be truly stupid to compromise the present, the future and the heart and soul
of our breed/breeders - you and I ! - by allowing for NEW adulteration of hte
blood. Forget the "oops" of the past. Don't make that mistake again. Before
long we will hvae a contingent of Saddlebred breders demanding that we open
the Reg to their horses, especially since they all but rode into being on our
coattails AND many of those horses are typier than some "purebred". Watch out
- and guard the door!
