you caught me with my stirrups down

Hey all of you experienced riders out there, I've recently been exposed =
to a new problem and I need any advice I can get!
On one of my rides (Lost Wheelbarrow Mine-excellent ride btw Stephanie, =
even with the extra miles! :) ) , I recently broke a stirrup (Flex =
ride). I got some new stirrups, the EZ rider aluminum with cages. My =
problem is that my stirrup buckle slips down after a while and rubs my =
legs. Every mile or so I have to readjust them to the top again. I =
ride in an all purpose saddle with standard english leathers. =20

I called the company who makes the stirrups and they hadn't heard this =
happen before. They suggested putting vetrap around the top where the =
stirrup leathers go around and using a keeper strap. I put vetrap around =
the top part as per suggested but it still slipped. Now I'm going to =
try the keeper strap. Sounds frustrating?....BINGO! I love the =
stirrups....but! Oh and by the way, if any of you out there had the =
Flex ride stirrups break, the company will replace them! They reinforced =
the top bar with metal and should not break. They no longer sell the =
brown, which I had, because they feel something in the brown dye weakens =
the compound.

I would appreciate any suggestions!
