I have used a vosal successfully on a horse Who was very strong and was
difficult to rate. My vosal has the smooth leather cover over the nose
peice and the leather curb straps. I can now just squeeze my fingers and
my horse takes notice. And even stops when I want to. He has gone in
many different types of Hackamores, Mostly Bicycle chain for the nose
peice (covered with Plastic of Course) So the vosal was my last thing I
tried and I loved it. I don't use it on my arab, as he seems nervous if I
don't have a bit in his mouth. He seems to do better with some contact. I
havent tried it on him for several years as he does well with stoping. I
can actually stop him with my seat in lessons and when I remember to sit
correctly on the trail. I never knew you didn't have to pull on the
reins, until just recently. Due to doing regular lessons with a fine
Instructor, and having a Horse that doesn't ignore me.
