What do you consider the minimum requirements for a satisfactory camp vs
the preferred amenities provided by the ideal camp? (and the same for day
parking at trail heads.) >>

Here in California, we have a PRIMO Horse Camp... Jack Brooks....

It has a building with flush toilets, hot showers, and a group area with
electricity and a stainless steel sink for food prep... built in BBQ's and a
big fire pit with permanent benches around it... there is also a building
with a refrigerator... and a pay phone.... the camping area is large enough
to hold 20 rigs and horse corrals are provided too...

The trails are wonderful too.... Beautiful ride thru the Redwoods.... there
is room for day parking too....

The only bad part about this camp is the road that you must use to come in
and out of the park.... it is a gravel road with a steep climb and mostly it
is only wide enough for 1 vehicle at a time.... meeting another rig head on
is disasterous!

I camp "primitive style" mostly, so it is a real treat to camp here and enjoy
the many ammenities amoung the beautiful redwoods!
