Cheryl

Hi Cheryl and everyone else,

Yup, in case anyone else was wondering David and I got married June 14
here on the ranch and had an "endurance honeymoon" with our horses up in
Tevis country at Natalie's Barn and Breakfast. In case anyone is
considering a trip to that area, Nat and Richard took wonderful care of
us and we had a GREAT time. David (a still novice rider) and I rode
from the Tevis finish line backwards to No-Hands Bridge and thought
nothing of it until he found a book on Nat's shelf that described that
section of trail as being for "experienced horseman only". Almost six
weeks later and I STILL haven't heard the end of it!!! In a nice way,
though. AND, lest we forget...

YOU KNOW IT'S TIME TO MARRY THE MAN WHEN:

1. You have heard the phrase, "No, honey, you sleep in, I'll go feed"
more than twice.

2. He's poring over Sportack and Running Bear catalogs as recreational
reading.

3. He's already having another love affair, but the object of his
affections is a little gray mare who (not having just fallen off the
turnip truck herself) is shamelessly sucking up to Daddy every chance
she gets.

4. When you suggested taking the horses to Northern California for the
honeymoon instead of spending a week at Waikiki, he actually thought it
was a good idea.

5. He has no interest in actually riding endurance, he thinks crewing
is more fun.

6. He'll crew for you anywhere, anytime, but only if you "allow" him to
buy a bigger, fancier rig so he can have a hot shower and coffee. (And
I thought the lap of luxury was my very own porta-potty!)

7. When you muse to yourself about whether or not we can afford
"children", he already knows you're talking about the four-legged kind.

8. He has made comments like, "Y'know, anyone can look good in lacey
lingerie, it takes a real woman to look sexy in lycra tights and a Tevis
t-shirt."

Happy trails!
