AERC Int. Meeting

The AERC International Committee met via conference call July 30th to develop a
uniform plan for all zones in light of the recent changes to the Pan American
Entry List.

At the July 14th meeting of the FEI Endurance committee in London, the FEI
committee decided that each country and each zone may double the number of their
entries from 6 to 12 (18 host zone). This decision was made to help facilitate
the World Cup Series as the Pan Am is also a World Cup Qualifier.

The AERC International Committee decided it is too close to the event to reopen
the nomination and selection process. The committee voted unanimously not to
reopen nominations.

The committee further voted unanimously NOT to change the squad sizes from those
originally allowed for the Pan Am Championship, ie. 6 per zone and 12 from
Pacific North. A number of very good reasons were given. Fundamentally, the
committee understands that it is unfair to the membership and especially the
nominees to change rules, terms or conditions mid stream and especially this
close to the event. Members made their decision to nominated or not and then to
compete for a place on their squad with the understanding that each squad would
have six members.
Furthermore, expanding the squad sizes would not help give the AERC membership
an equitable opportunity to participate in the WC series, as the Pan Am is NOT
an Open event.

The decision of the AERC International Committee will not change the Pan
American's designation by the FEI as a WC Qualifier.
If you have any questions please call your zone rep, Chuck Gray or me and we
will be happy to assist you.
