My filly (got her in November so this is her first summer with me) rubbed/rubs
her tail and mane for no apparent reason. What seems to be working is to
shampoo her mane and tail twice a week with Head & Shoulders extra strength
shampoo- the kind for sebborhea (sp?). I'm also experimenting with adding
Alpha Keri to some water and running that through her hair after the shampoo
is rinsed out. If I don't do this religously twice a week she'll rub. I'm
still
figuring this out and this is what is working so far. -Amy
