Hi group! I have a 10 year old arab who is very spooky and nervous when
ever he is on an alfalfa diet. When I took him off and put him on straight
bermuda he calmed down amazingly, barely any spooks and I was able to walk
up to him without him freaking out. Well he dosen't maintain his weight
well enough on just bermuda, he is turned out right now recovering from that
cholla infection still. So I gave him alfalfa/bermuda mix pellets only
approx 1 lb a day, but once again he is acting spooky and nervous again.
What to do? I don't want to feed him any alfalfa at all, but I can't find
pellets that are just bermuda. I could give him a small amount of sweet
feed, the reaction isn't as big but he isn't as calm either. I do have rice
bran but that would push his ca/p ratio totally out of wack. Any ideas group?
