horse treats

Here's a list of treats I've given my horses through the years (not every
horse liked all of these):
carrots, apples, oranges, tangerines, potatoes, turnips, tomatoes,
cucumbers, brocolli, cauliflower, grapes, raisins, lettuce, cabbage,
Ranch dressing, saltine crackers, graham crackers, beef jerkey, rice,
corn flakes, grape nuts cereal, celery, oreo cookies, oatmeal cookies,
peanut brittle, raisin bread, 7-grain bread, cranberry muffins, peaches,
apricots, figs, Fig Newtons, beer, lemonade, Coke, martini olives,
blueberry pie, and Fritos corn chips.

Except for the carrots, apples, grapes and oatmeal cookies none of the
above items were given on a regular basis - just something I would grab
out of the cupboard if the normal stuff gone. Some of the stuff the
horse would acquire a taste for by grabbing it out of my hands while we
were stopped for a lunch break on a long ride. To the best of my
knowledge none of this stuff caused any harm to my horses.

My current steed is quite persnickity about her food. The only
goodies she will touch are carrots, Gala apples, carrots, Fuji apples,
carrots, red flame grapes, and carrots. She turns her nose up at
everything else.
