Laine got her hoof wedged under a rock and went down. Becky rolled clear.
It took about 6 people to turn her over so she could get up. Becky walked
Laine several miles into Lyon. The treatment vet put on a splint, and
Becky walked her to Red Star, since trailers can't get into Lyon,
and the treatment vet didn't think that it was necessary to airlift
her out. This took most of the day.....

She was then trailered to Davis - radiographs taken etc. She didn't
break any bones (treatment vet was right..), but she tore the medial
collateral ligament (ligament that holds the cannon bone and long pastern
together). She's got a cast on to stabilize the joint. She's still
in Davis - they're making sure that the cast fits ok, but she'll
be back in a few days (as of Sun., she was doing fine with the
cast).

It was truly an awful day, mostly composed of waiting,
keeping Rio amused, (Judith went up to Red Star to wait for Becky
to arrive) and worrying for hours and hours....
