Easyboots, cell phones, pliers, nail in hoof

Hal stepped on a 3 inch nail on Sunday, 2/3 of which punctured his frog
about eight miles out on a training ride. The nail entered the frog but
deflected sideways and back penetrating the bulb, but for his size 3
feet the nail would have pushed all the way through. Fortunately I carry
pliers and a cell phone. Extracted the nail called my rescue crew (wife)
for a trailer ride home. The vet got to our place within an hour to cut
open the wound. Hal is now skulking around the paddock with no visible
effects from this mishap, apart from the Easyboot with a Betadine
saturated foam insert. Be using boots all around until he grows that
frog back.

It's a pain when this sort of thing happens but boy it's nice when all
that preparation comes together, makes it much less traumatic.

So with Hal laid up for a while I only have two horses to ride and
thought I'd come use up some band width.
