Gee Whiz, Kat.....

that nice little message came across as quite scathing and condensending
to boot! I surely hope that it was not intended that way! Hope it
didn't frighten poor Gloria away for good!

Gloria, ask away! The only silly question is the one that you never
ask! Everyone on this list was a beginner at one point and time, and
everyone learned, both by doing AND asking questions!

Kat is right in that the same things won't work for everyone, but at
least it will give you a place to start! You can observe the items that
others use and make a decision as to whether or not they may work for
you, and whether you would want to spend your hard earned money on it.

This sport is so different from other horse sports that I would imagine
it's fairly mind boggling to a newcomer.....let's not belittle them for
trying to learn!

I do agree in getting out and completing some short rides. Endurance
riders (for the most part) are very helpful and love to talk about their
horses and equipment. If you don't feel up to riding yourself, do
volunteer or ride drag. You will gain valuable experience without
pressuring yourself.

My humble .02.....
