Hasn't anyone heard of Eqyss Bio Tek products? This stuff works on scratches
and other fungus conditions like magic. And its NOT MESSY, plus no wrapping.
Instructions are on the bottles.

You need two products; Equine Medicated Shampoo, and Equine Spray. You wash
the whole horse with the shampoo (not really necessary if you catch things
early). Then with straight shampoo you scrub the scabbed areas and work off
all the scabs. Right down to blood if necessary. The shampoo softens the
scabs. I recommend for a first time use, shampooing at least to the hocks and
knees. Once the horse is all cleaned up, leave the shampoo on for 5 minutes,
then rinse. I like to use a clean towel to get most of the moisture off.
(Don't use it on other horses, scratches probably is catching.) Then use the
spray on all affected areas. The spray prevents new scabby stuff from
forming. Use your fingers if necessary to rub it into thick hair. Be sure to
get the under sides of the fetlocks. You leave the spray on to dry.

That's it! If the horse has a bad case, you might want to treat his legs two
or three days in a row, then every other day. Then once a week. Check
occassionally to see if any spots are trying to come back and treat if
necessary.

All our horses get scratches each May. We think it's something they eat on
pasture, but we don't know what. One horse kept in a corral last year didn't
get it. I start watching for it in May. It's definitely light related, too.
Once June 21, the longest day is over, our problems subside.

I consider this stuff a wonder drug. No mess, no fuss, no clipping, no
wrapping. It even smells good. I've used it for a rain rot type problem and
it worked with two treatments. It also cured ringworm. Here in S. Calif. it's
in just about all the tack stores. It comes in black bottles.
