I pulled my own horse once when her pulse was not coming down like it usually
did. Turned out I did the right thing as she broke out in hives (1000's of
them!!!) the next day. The ride vet made a point of recognizing my pull in
spite of the fact that she passed all veterinary criteria.

It all boils down to what you love more...your horse or a win...
