The first running of the Californios 100 was held on
June 14. Located near Palmdale and Lancaster, weather
was surprisingly cold for this time of year. Fog and
mist persisted throughout the day to keep temperatures
down. This made for great riding out on the course, but
it made it harder to keep horses warm and loose at the
vet checks, especially for the hour holds at checks 2
and 4.
I was working P&Rs throughout the day. The course
looked challenging and beautiful, with much of it on the
Pacific Crest Trail. Hopefully I can participate as a
rider next year!
There were twelve entries and nine finishers. Below are
the results as provided by Ride Manager Chris Wall.

volunteers, and they encourage everyone to come out
and ride next year.
