Randy's short article really tells it like it should be and how many of us
view the sport.

Just got back from a few days of the XP ride down in Nevada. That is just
how it was and how it should be. Spoke with many friends who go back to
earlier days and we discussed many of the things we like and dislike about
this on-line discussion group. The final opinion seamed to be the way the
"Duck" runs his ride gives every one a fair shake, is flexible, finishes a
greater percentage of entering riders, and has fewer horse problems. (first
day finished 88 out of 89 entries and it was not an easy ride, compare that
to other rides of like difficulty)

If any one has the desire to discuss this subject further I will be more
than pleased to continue it and I am sure some of the other "long time
riders" will join in. Perhaps we can get a full blown philosophy discussion
going on endurance riding. Sure hope so!

It is up to you out there to start!
