I would like to give recognition to the front five riders at the OD that
remarked that vandalized trail. John Crandell III, Debi Gordon, Stag Newman,
Steve Rojek, and Julie Bullock. They epitomize the sport. Instead of
figuring out the trail and running on, they remarked and added markings to
help the riders behind have a fair chance. John Crandell III, a cavalry
rider, gave up his bright orange rider card pack and some toilet paper to
mark a crucial turn. It would have truely been a disaster without the
sportmanship of these riders.
