Shoot, I feel this way just about camping and eating on trail. I think our
dogs all appreciate our leaving them at home to bask in the sunshine. In any
case, since we have a leash law here, it is doubly offensive when someone's
loose dog comes lapping and wagging up to my horse on a trail. Once I was
told cheerily, "don't worry, she doesn't bite!" I responded just as cheerily,
"That's great, but my horse KICKS!" That ended THAT. Please folks, don't put
the riders in the position of having to extra duty on the trail to protect
loose dogs from their own innate friendliness. Besides, the poo-poo on the
trail is groos to get out of their feet whether the dogs bites or not. YUCKO!
