Rude people can usually be treated the same way you treat a three year old.
Don't get mad, you're the grownup. A sweet smile and the reply " As soon as
you ask nicely." will generally remind rude adults that they are acting like
three year olds.

The other side of the story - we had several 50 milers come up behind us on a
one horse trail at Mt. Laguna. We said we'd get out of their way as soon as
safe, they said thank you, we did, they rode by and a good time was had by
all. The rude ones are vastly outnumbered by the nice ones. I vow to
remember the good and not the bad.
