re:first aid kits

Jan's list of items she carries in her fanny pack sounded all too
familiar to me - only I've always called it my 'war bag'. When
travelling in the wilderness areas I always consider the possibility
that my horse and I might part company, hence the reason for not
trusting such vital necessities to an animal who's first line of defense
would most likely be FLIGHT.

There are just a few more items I also carry with me - a very LOUD
whistle, a compass, a half dozen boullion cubes & a chocolate bar! In
twenty years of packing this little horde of items around I am thankful
to say that I've never had to really depend on it in a life/death
situation, but its been handy for several minor incidents.
