I do my own shots, but have for 25 years. Learned a lot at the racetracks
back in the 70's. I have NEVER had a problem, but I was TAUGHT!!! I have
known of several horses who DIED from reactions to their owners home given
shots, so your advise is very much to be heeded!!! I have also seen horses
who developed SEVERE abcesses from shots..one that had such a bad reaction
that her entire body swelled and she couldn't even put her head down to
eat!!! Shots are NOT something to be given lightly and without precaution.
KNOW what you are doing, and where there is an alternative (such as
anti-biotics) use PILLS!!!
