Regarding refunds,

Our pocket book directly effects the amount of rides my husband & I ride. A
week before Rattlesnake, I fell & tore the ligaments in my back. I'd agreed
to let a friend & her Dad borrow my rig to haul their horse, & another friend
was going to ride my husbands horse on the LD. So, I thought - I'll take it
easy this week, then ride the LD.

Arrived at the ride, spoke to the ride manager, explained that I wasn't sure
if I could ride. Asked in advance, if I could receive a refund if I didn't
ride. She agreed. I saddled up, got on, no problem until I asked for a trot.
No way could I ride, & I received my check back.

I bring my own food, don't use "utilities", & yes do take up a section of the
prarie, (there's lots of prarie). Leave a clean camp, & brought two paying
riders.

I think honesty should be the "policy". It's hard enough to train & plan for
a ride, to find out that you can't do it for whatever reason. For a ride to
keep a entry fee when the rider can't ride, or a horse can't start, doesn't
seem right.

Changing your "mind", is something else.
