HI Tina.. Congrads on your Mons TT.. very nice crew job..

I was going to ask off-line .. but may as well ask for the group...

Did you notice any different heart rates .. before Tony went lame?

I mean just slight say 5 beats higher then normal..

this assumes you use it at home enough to KNOW what his rates SHOULD be at a
FAST HARD trot and canter..

It took me about 6 months to really notice the slight elevated differences in
HR when something was starting to go wrong..
Once I was aware or 'tunned' in to this.. It never lied to me.. I may have
choose to ignore the higher readings.. BUT we always ended up with a
problem..
I have found stone bruses, sore suspensories , and metabolic problems.

before we were serious..if I really listened.

Fasha got stuck in a bog in April.. just walking.. mud half way up the leg..
she pulled it hard to get out.. went 'UH' and landed hard on the same leg..
we got clear.. went into a trot and within 1/2 mile the readings were jumping
up about 10 to 20 over normal then back to normal. Monitor was working
perfect all day..Could not feel any real problem.. just a maybe once in a
while.. as we went on she started to slow down and short stride.. hr stayed
up still no limp... we walked in..

leg filled within 1/2 hr.. was quite lame at trot out..
NATRC DOES NOT HAVE A FIT TO CONTINUE RULE so I told the vet she was G3..
and did not want to trot.. he asked for a trot ..i went 6 or 7 strides and
told him thats all..took off 15 pts but we finished.. NOT GOOD ..
Would have been pulled in AERC and ECTRA..

anyway would like to know if you noted anything..
