Hi Anne
I don't know what anyone else's experience with the Equilon pads are, but I
just got one to go under my synthetic Ulster endurance saddle. After several
longish rides I'm very satisfied with it. It's supposed to be a natural latex
underside which channels the sweat off the horse's back and allows air to
circulate. It does seem to work the way I was told it would work. No heat build
up despite its top side which is waterproof so the sweat can't migrate
through. It seems to work well and besides that, it sticks so well on my mare's
back, I'm able to ride with a looser cinch. I was told they're great for
multi-day rides as you just wash them off under the faucet and they're almost
immediately dry. Cost about the same as a wool fleece pad. Got it from
Australian Connection.
