Well, this ride will get strait A's from me this year!!!
The only thing I didn't like was the COLD temps that I was not looking
for. I bought some new shorts just before this ride, and wound up with my
sweat shirt on till 2 in the afternoon!! brrr.

Other than that, things couldn't have been more perfect.

We got all the vet area set up, had everything in line,, plenty of
volunteers, and I do not believe that I have EVER been so well taken care
of by management in my whole career as a rider/helper!!
>From Sat morning early until late into the night while waiting on the last
100 milers, we were fed, watered, cared for, and even given some
recreational beverages!! WOW!! what a way to have us come back next
year!! Anne definately has down pat the care and feeding of helpers!! I
think I gained 5 pounds this past weekend.

>From what I heard, the trails were well marked, they were easy to follow,
and with NO mud, it was a fast trail!! the 50 miler was a blow out. When
Dawn Sanchez went out 3 minutes in the lead,, her crew told her to GO and
DO not look back....well she didn't, and the person behind her apparantly
slowed down. Dawn won by nearly 1 hour!! She also took BC, and I am not
surprised. Her horse looked SUPERB at the finish. She did a great job of
riding and her crew did a great job of caring for them both at the checks.

the 100 mile race was another boring finish!!:-)) . I called the finish
about 1/2 hour before they came across. Nina Warren and Melissa Crain
went out 1 minute ahead of the Rojeks. I figured if Nina and Melissa were
not caught, there would be no race as they do not race each other, only
take turns winning!! It would have been interesting if they Rojeks had
caught them, but it was still good to have it the way it was!!
Melissa paid back Nina by taking BC!! Wow, to have a horse that looked as
good as Charbiel did after that ride!!

The management at the Biltmore,, Anne, Jane, Jan, all the others that I
missed--sorry--did such a wonderful job!!
If you have not ever done the Biltmore, put it on your list of "must dos"
and come on over to have a blast!! If you have done it before and enjoyed
it, then be sure and come back last year. I have ridden this ride twice,
finished it once, and hopefully I will be ready to ride it again next
year--although helping definately has it's advantages here!!

See you guys on the trail!! We are off to Liberty Run!!
