Ten finishes. I am not trying to convince you that one stallion is better
than another...If Hallany Mistanny had the same record as the get of Al
Marah
Knight I certainly would be checking out that line also. >>
COnsider also that the best bloodlines remain unproven if they are absent
from the sport. In the case of many, many fine horses, they wasted their
precious atthletic careers in the show ring and thus were not available for
comparison. It is a shame that some the historically best lines - bred for
traits of great antiquity - have been subjected to a stilted career in an
arena when they might have made excellent endurance or other sport horses. I
had never heard of too many Hallany or other Egyptian lines that excelled in
sport to the extreme, but then until just a decade or so ago, they were
hardly ever seen outside of the breeding barn! Too valuable and rare to ride,
breeders said. We didn't think they should be treated like hothouse plants,
and so we ride ours - hunters, distance, reining, etc. Oh yeah, they have
shown - Nationally qualified in fact - but only a stepping stone to better
things. Perhaps owners should consider careful conditioning and tthen putting
their horses to the test!

Just in passing...let's not forget the contribution of hte precious mares. It
is too common to speak of that illustrious sire and his greatness, when a
significant factor in the success and ability of every horse out there owes a
great deal of its genetic - and social - makeup to those precious dams! We
choose out horses probably more according to the dam line than the sire line.
