I'd like to thank Larry Suddjian and all the folks who put on the
Western States Trail Fun Ride II the last weekend in April. And thanks
also to everyone who made me feel welcomed at the ride, to Sue Flagg for
generously inviting me to come out and ride her horses and made it
possible for me to actually ride on some of the Tevis Cup trails. It was
quite a memorable experience for this trail rider from Iowa! I got some
lovely photos on the longer loop of the trail that we rode on Saturday,
and many more scenes that I'll have to keep in memory - trails were too
narrow for me to stop and get off my horse to take pictures!

After this ride, I have even greater respect and admiration for the
endurance horses and riders that do the Tevis Cup.

Last weekend, back here in the midwest, I rode my horse on a NATRC
competitive trail ride in Illinois. It was lovely, much easier than the
California trails, but with its own "challenges." Both ride experiences
were very enjoyable and reminded me again of how lucky we are to have
opportunities such as these to share with our horses and our friends.

Thanks again to all who made my adventures truly wonderful!
