To Libbie:

Don't let it get you down. It probably wasn't anything you did. Sometimes
when theyhave to stand around, especially in cold, wet conditions such as you
describe, they can get a little stiff--just like we do. I sounds to me like
you're on the right track, or his PR's wouldn't be so good. You might try
riding a little slower next time just to see if that makes any difference,
but I'd say don't give up just yet. Give it another chance or two--as long
as the horse is sound, especially after a day or two of rest (how did you
feel? did you get sore at all? They're just like us. My legs absolutely
KILL me for 2-3 days after a competition!), and his vitals are good at the
rides, I wouldn't drop out just yet. Have another shot at it, and HAVE FUN!
