Training assistance needed.

I just bought a 13 year old Arab. I don't know much about her past. I had
her vet checked and she is very healthy and sound. Looking at her she is
very muscular and fit. (A little thin, but she has a slender build) The
rides I take are between 20 and 40 miles, but I would like to get into
riding longer distances. Since she wasn't used for a month or so before I
got her, I have been taking it easy on her to be sure she is in
condition. (10 miles or so) She doesn't even lather at this distance,
even when we do a good amount of jogging and loping. My problem is
this.....

What is the best way to train a horse for this kind of distance? What
kind of special supplements should I give her? She has a tendency to drop
weight, so how can I keep it on?

Also I am interested in finding out about some long distance riding
groups in my area. My horse lives in North West New Jersey (Bedminster)
and there is PLENTY of room to ride. Thanks for any help!
