I got a Sports Saddle 3 years ago. My horse and I LOVE it. Had been using a
Double R Endurance Saddle which fit me but seemed to restrict this horse's
shoulder movement. He started getting very nasty about saddleing. He never
had back points after a ride. No white spots. No clue to the problem, just
"don't saddle me." He is much better about saddle time now ( but still sour
looks. so something is still amiss) But he moves soooo much beter. I find I
cover the trail in less time without trying. He doesn't have a great big trot
anyway, so we need all the help we can get.

I also love the close contact. It's like riding bareback. I would do the ride
bareback, but I looked like an old gypsy with all the "stuff" tied on me. (
Water bottles, easy boot, sponge, rump rug, etc.) So anyone looking for THE
saddle should try out a friends. I was sold the very first minute.

The only drawback that I have with this saddle is that my horse, when
overweight especially, throws the girth under his arms. I have made some
straps to double rig it, but you can't do too much or it will "fold " the
saddle up. But we did get through 50 miles this weekend and didn't rub any
scabs off from the previous week. Perhaps my rigging could be moved, I must
check it out.
