Ahhh, I need to get into this too. I'm entering the great saddle hunt also.
Love my All Purpose Kieffer english saddle but my gelding galls a little
over the loin area over longer rides. What saddle would someone recommend
for a heavyweight rider (5'8" 160 lbs) since Sports saddle is pretty much
ruled out for these. I have a 15.2 hand arab gelding, somewhat substantially
built, that has a powerful trot. Think this is some of my problem. He
strides real wide, reaching and powerfully in the back at the trot - to the
outside of his front (and floats in the front - incredible to ride <g>.)
Think this is when I get the galling in the loin area - my little English
saddle is going from side to side in back (I'm standing).
