My horse had egg bar shoes on one hoof when I bought him. Switched to
regular shoes. He never really grows much heel. My farrier ended up putting
a half pad on to help elevate the heel. I don't really like the idea of
stuff getting stuck under the pad though. Maybe I should switch back to egg
bars.

Maybe it doesn't matter any more though. That horse has DJD/arthritis in
both front legs... at only 8+ years old. :-(

Quite the shame since he is so level headed and reliable. We only had the
chance to ride in 4 LD rides.

Sooo, I am also interested in what you all have to say about egg bars or pads
to help lift the heel... OR what, if any supplements, might help with grow
some heel. 15mg of biotin a day someone suggested.
