In a message dated 97-04-23 15:14:02 EDT, you write:

<< My gelding has a cannon that is offset. the center of the cannon comes
down
from a little to the right of the center side of the knee, it does not come
down from the center of the knee. it is not much, but it is obvious. He
has almost a thousand miles and the vast majority of those were very fast.
he was retired due to an injury unrelated to this.

...for what it's worth.....

There are thousands of racehorses with conditions like this, many of them
useful racehorses. This occurs when on side or other of the growth plate is
compromised early in life. Sometimes it is corrected in process by surgery on
the young horse--I don't like this idea because then the horse is sold at
auction looking "normal" when it really isn't. I believe there is a stronger
possibility of injury in these animals. However, nobody in his right mind
would try to correct the problem with an "adjustment".
