Knees

My .02 here. Personal experience. I read Truman's post about Misty's
knees with great interest. My own knee was sore and stiff for almost a
year (I was trying to get a recalcitrant calf to nurse, slipped on a wet
board, and sat down hard on my heel). Went to the doctor, who looked at
it, wiggled it, flexed it, said it looked okay to him, and these things
take time to heal. Ten months later, I slipped on an icy step and
straightened my knee fast and hard, and it "popped" (like a knuckle).
It has felt fine since. There was nothing really wrong with it, just
some things that weren't quite arranged right in there. Truman's
description of the sound when Misty's knee was worked on seems to fit
the same scenario.
My knee could have had another problem, so could Misty's, but these two
things worked those two times. Not sure how you would be sure that was
the problem the next time..... but if it doesn't hurt the horse, it may
be worth a try under similar circumstances.
