In a message dated 97-04-16 14:52:01 EDT, you write:

<< I never wanted children because if I had one that turned out to be
allergic to my animals, I'd be forced to place the kid!! (and who wants
them after they pass that cutesy stage!! :-))

Also, my collies never ask for the keys to my car, or stay out all night
whooping it up with friends like I did as a teenager. Oh my poor
parents. I have the urge to call them and apologize for being a
teenager. Gotta go!! >>
Campers,
I found this on the collie list and thought to share it with you. We have
horses, Collies and children. We love them all, in different ways. My
response to this missive was:

my collies and horses also never wrap their little arms around me and tell me
how much thtey love me. They don't make me soup - lukewarm - when I am sick.
They don't sing in church on Easter in their little dresses, faces beaming.
They don't come in the door covered with dirt from playing show-and-tell with
the horses. And they remind me of who I am and where I came from. Children
are truly a gift, and as with all gifts, need careful nurturing to be at
their best. They remind us of how our parents felt! They make us more
patient, tolerant and open-minded people. They teach us of the miracle of
life and birth and living on through our own. How sad to me to consider them
an inconvenience. We love our Arabians - our children ried htem. We love our
COllies - our children groom them. We love our children - they are life
renewing itself!
