I am using Opti-Flex for humans. Purchased from KV Vet Supply catalog.
I also have a horse and my dog on it. Ingredients of the human
formula, per two capsules:

Chondroitin Sulfate 366 mg
Glucosamine 311 mg
Bromelain 366 mg
Quercetin 91 mg
Vit C 366 mg

I have been able to feel a difference for myself which was really
noticeable when I ran out for a week or so. Not only do a couple of
bad joints feel better but when I ran out I found I had a lot of body
aches and creakiness that I didn't realize I had been living with with
before using Opti-Flex. My 8 yr old retreiver had started to have a
lot of aches and soreness after log trail rides. She has improved
dramatically. The horse was put on it just as a preventiveness thing
due to a injury. I just read a short article (Prevention Magazine?)
about Bromelain. It is used more for muscular injuries than for joints
according to the article. The Quercetin I'm not sure about. I'm
assuming the Vit C is supposed to enhance utilization of one of the
other ingredients?

Is anyone out there taking glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate
for themselves? I am looking for the least expensive, most effective
form. I started a friend of mine on GS500 for his osteoarthritis in both
hips.........without question it has helped him a great deal. When he is on
it he has no pain.....when he runs out 5 days later..he has pain....Since
he is a State Trooper he is reluctant to use anything with herbs in it
like the Arthri-Soothe I use ....if hurt on the job he concerned as to what
he would test positive for????

Thanks for your help
