We got one of the Toklat pads for our Sports Saddle a short time ago. We
have a skito for our Wintec. There's only a few hundred miles on the pad
so far so the jury is still out. It appears to be cut a little too small
for the saddle along the flap and the flap seems to overlap it by about
a quarter inch on both sides. The little doohickeys that you pass the
girth through on the side panels of the pad are fiddly when putting and
taking the saddle off. I think I'll cut them off or cut them and stick
some velcro on.

It feels nice and soft but I wonder... Hal seems to get pretty hot under
all that wool and foam, perhaps he may be happier with the old Navajo
blanket. The toklat was about twice the price of the Skito I was looking
into (no doubt because of the nice wool cover) but I had a great deal of
trouble trying to get hold of the Skito pad (phone problems at the
supplier - tried for months).

The skito pad for the Wintec seems nice and have put a thousand or two
miles on it by now and it's wearing out. One of the foam inserts is
breaking up (tearing from being pulled out for washing). The Toklat need
only be washed half as often since you can reverse it and dirty both
sides before washing.
